Each of us over our lives can anticipate that we will experience Life’s seasons – that there will be times of happiness and contentment, that there will be times of pain and challenge and that there will be the times in between.  Often, the times of pain and challenge arise from a loss, a change or an anticipated loss or change. At this time, our world as we have known it may be shaken and we may feel stuck in the past and unsettled and uncertain about the future.

Denise’s approach is to establish trust and confidence in the acknowledgement that each person is the foremost expert of his/her life. Her expertise is as a companion to assist people to connect with their thoughts, feelings and behaviours to understand what they experiencing at this time of loss and change and to explore pathways, strategies and techniques which will empower them to restore their lives and live with purpose and optimism according to their unique values.

Denise provides a confidential, safe and supportive space in which this is able to unfold.
After an extensive career in education, Denise completed qualifications in Experiential and Creative Arts Therapies and Grief and Bereavement Interventions.  She is a Practitioner Associate counsellor with the Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement (ACGB) and is accredited as a Certified Bereavement Practitioner (CBP) through the ACGB.  She is a registered as both a counsellor and a creative arts therapist. 
As well as offering her service from Hale House, she offers home and hospital visits as well as online video counselling.
